India have named Vijay Shankar, Dinesh Karthik and KL Rahul in the squad for the upcoming World Cup 2019 in England and Wales. Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant were left out of the squad, which also has a place for Ravindra Jadeja.
There was a lot of talk about potential number four for India, the point of a pain is that the team is trying to solve for a long time. Now the selector MSK Prasad chairman Vijay Shankar said that he will bat on two wickets. Reserve's keeper slot has gone to Kartik, while KL Rahul Opener will be there.
MSK Prasad said that Kartik was preferred over Pant due to his superior skills.

Ravindra Jadeja replaced the spinner with wrist spots, Yuswendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav to replace the third spinner. In the side, four pacers opted for Jaspreet Bumrah, who included Mohammad Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and allrounder Hardik Pandya.

Speaking about Rayudu's boycott, Prasad said: "After the Champions Trophy (2017), we tried to do a lot in that situation. We gave Rayudu some more opportunities, Vijay Shankar is three-dimensional. We are looking for starting with 4. We have Dinesh Karthik and Kedar Jadhav, it is not that there is anything against [Rayudu], that some things went for [Shankar]. "
He said, "KL will be the reserve opener to start with [Rahul], if the team gets needed, the team management will call."
Prasad also said that some other bowlers would travel with the team as the net bowlers, but he said that his name will be taken later.
India started its search for the third World Cup title on June 5 in Southampton against South Africa. They will play two warm-up matches before this, against New Zealand on May 25 and in Cardiff on 28 May against Bangladesh.
